Important update 13.02.2026

I have finally a a very good working version for the A500mini. I am very grateful and happy. AmigaVault you are really awesome. Without you, there would not be a proper working A500mini version. AmigaVault has also provided version for the Mister, CD32, AmigaDos and a new WHDload with a proper icon. (The old version featured the abandoned test version icon, sadly)

Wings of Fear

This is the full game and it features:

* 6 main Levels including 2 bombing missions.

* 6 bonus Levels.

* 5 Bosses.

* 5 different locations.

* 5 tunes. 4 from Frank Ewil Larsen and 1 (theme song) from MΓ‘rton Imre GΓ‘spΓ‘r

* 78 colours.

* 3 different pickups.

From fuel (red barrel) to fuel, repare and weapon Upgrade (blue barrel)

Background story:

You control a Sopwith Camel double Decker (painted white and gold!) and are on a secret mission to find a hidden german base during WW1.

 information:

I decided to go for fetchmode 3, this means that the game screen is to the right. It is not possible to get it centered using Scorpion Engine. But the positive is that the game run much faster and i have not encountered any slowdown if using enough fast ram (4MB)

I have now uploaded V4.8. This is a version made in fetchmode 1. It is very stable and should work on "all" AGA Amigas. But it is slower than fetchmode 3.  But if you are using an Amiga 4000 with 040 cpu or higher you will have no slowdown anyway. But let me know of you have any bugs or troubles.

Update 01.12.2025:

I have fixed a little bug in level 2. If you do no shoot the looping planes they will "park" at the end of the level. Nothing gamebreaking, but for me it was abit annoying. :D

So check the files for the latest version.

Feedback and credit!

I have had some great help with the code from Mixels you have been a true gem my friend.  Zooperdan was the one that got me started. Testing has been mostly my self.

But I have had some very important feedback from Tony Aksnes, Adrian Cummings and Arne Harstadyou have helped me alot and you tested it very quickly.

Henning Ludvigsen from Badger Punch Games you are really a super nice and cool dude. And looking forward to get to know you more too Ricki Sickenger, you seem just as nice and cool! πŸ˜‰

Retro City Kristiansand. So grateful and humble that you wanted to show my game at the retro marked this year!

Thank you for your support!

Thanks to Amiga Vault for making a WHDload version of everything I uploaded here on my page. You are super friendly and fast!

Thanks to Laurent Blot and Johan Genade for making a WHDload version of my final game. Amiga 4 Ever

I have to mention Neil from Indie Retro News you are so quick and service minded. Thank you. The same goes for Saaberman at YouTube my goo, dness you are almost to quick! πŸ˜‰πŸ™ No, seriously, Thank you so much for playing and showing my game. Really appricate it!

I was also featured in Zzap Amiga magazine. May issue. That was Surreal. Thank you David Simmons.

I have also had some good testing from various friends and Amiga enthusiasts. Jack from Pintz and Amiga, Jamie Neil Morgan from Morgan Just Games, AmigaBill who of course can be found at both YouTube and Twitch.πŸ™ NAG Graham on Twitch,  Jamie Just Retro Realm on YouTube and last but not least Erik Hogan from Earok on Twitch, yes the same Earok who has made Scorpion Engine!

MΓ‘rton Imre GΓ‘spΓ‘r has made the awesome tittle music and  Frank Ewil Larsen alias Curt_Cool have made the great ingame tunes. I have made all the animations and game assets my self using Asprite, Resprite and Procreate.

My game is AI free! πŸ˜‚πŸ₯³

Minimum system requirements:

OS: AGA. RAM:2MB chip. and 2MB of fast. CPU: 68020 (This is will have slowdowns and is not recommended.

Recomended system requirements:

OS:AGA. RAM 2MB chip and 4MB fast. CPU 68020

DEVELOPMENT LOG:

Update 3: 04.06.25

The previous Version will still be available to download.

I have been very lucky to get Amiga Vault to make a WHDload version of every Version of my demos from the very first to the latest one, Wings of Fear V2.00

That is updated in my download section. Now its easier for everyone to test me little game.

If you have an Amiga project which you would like an WHDload version of, do not hesitate to contact them on one of these links or contact them by PM on Facebook Messenger user AMIGA VAULT.

https://www.facebook.com/AMIGAVAULT

https://www.facebook.com/groups/amigavaultproject

amigavault.contribution@gmail.com

Update 4: 20.06.25

Here is the first look at level two of Wings of Fear. I have a long way to go, and I also need to tweak and fix some more stuff at level 1 and the bonus level. I am hoping to get implemented bombing but that might be to advanced for me to do. Anyway hope you enjoy this sneak peak of level 2. :-D

Update 5: 01.07.25

First of all I want to give a shout out to Michael from Mixelslab. He has helped my alot with the code on this game. Mixels YOU ROCK!! Thank you so much for your patience and effort so far. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ I hope you can give him a follow and maybe even donate to his awesome games. https://mixelslab.itch.io/

Wings of Fear has now a second boss and also continues. The second boss (stage two of the new boss is very har so you will need to pick up as many lives as you can on the previous bonus stage) You might  recognize this boss from my first version of Wings of Fear. I have modifed it alot and given it a laser (one hit kill) and two types of missiles.

Hopefully I will finish a second playable AGA demo of this version of the game in august or september. That will be the final demo I publish before the whole game is finished in desember. (It might take longer.. I am planing cutscenes and story kind of !)

Update 6: 15.07.25

I am finally well into making level 3. I struggled quite alot to get the "barrel roll" look ok. That took some doing, but I think I got there in the end? What do you think. Be constructive please! ;)  Anyway I am very happy about all the positive and nice feedback. Thank you so much. I am more and more confident that I will be able to make a whole game now and maybe even a big box release. But I am no half way yet, even though I am close to 50% finish. Have a great summer holiday everyone.

Update 7: 27.07.25

Today I am very happy. I now have two great musicans supporting my game. Theme song from MΓ‘rton Imre GΓ‘spΓ‘r and ingame music from demoscener Frank Ewil Larsen alias Curt_Cool. Thank you so much guys. This really elevated the game alot.

Update 8: 01.08.25

I am very pleased to announce that my second playable AGA demo is now available. Demo version 3.01 of Wings of Fear contains 3 levels, 3 bonus stages and 3 bosses. I have been so lucky to have Frank Ewil Larsen alias Curt_Cool make a brand new song for my game as well. "Wings of Hear" Thank you so much. This demo will probably be the last demo before the full game is released hopefully at the end of this year, time will tell.

I again have to mention Michael Dawns alias Mixelslab who has been a super dude and helping me alot with the code and given me great advice. Thanks to Indie Retro News  you have been so positive and serviceminded. I am also very greatful to have been in an article in the may issue of Zzap Amiga that was so surreal.  Thanks to Amiga Vault for making a WHDload version of everything I uploaded here on my page.

Thanks to everyone who has streamed and played my game so far, Morgan Just Games, Pintz and AmigasAmigaBill and Saaberman  Retro News. And of course last but not least thanks  to all my testers and helpful friends for feedback and constructive criticism with solutions on how to solve problems or improve my game!

Update 9: 02.08.25

Amiga Vault has once again been super nice and made an WHDload version on my latest demo.

Which is technically demo 3.. but it is the second AGA demo.

And of course I just have to remind everyone I would love to make an OCS/ECS version or a new game, but I need to learn how to use Scorpion Engine alot more efficient then. Also still have a long way to go to make sprites, bobs and tiles using fewer colours.

Update 10: 14.08.25

I have finally started on level 4 - the bombing stage. I have tried my best to make unique explosions for every of the 3 types of building you can bomb. I have not been able to impliment the bombing yet, as of now you can only shoot them. But I am getting there hopefully!

Update 11: 26.08.25

I am still abit stuck at the bombing level, but I will get it to work. (Because there are some amazing people that can help! Mixels and Earok and many others.) Anyway I have started working on level 5. Yes, there need the be some Alien influence of course. I have to spice it up.

Update 12: 12.09.25

Now the bomb level is working and I have made level 5, level 5 bonus  and the boss level . I will not show more from now on. I am about 80% done. Also I need cutscenes to bind the game together. :P But I am quite pleased with the progress so far.

Update 13: 02.10.25

I have started working on the final level and the final boss. I have also decided to rework all the menus and images. Now there is no use of AI in my game. :-)

Another decision I have made is to make two version. One free version as promised but hopefully also a box deluxe version. The deluxe version will contain some extra struff and one extra level, but most work will be the cutscenes. They will not be included in the free version.

Update 14: 03.10.25

All the new menus are now working. I have also replaced the 2 AI images I used, so now my game has NO AI images. Very happy with that.  I am hoping to get a transition from black and white over to colour in the game.

Update 15: 10.10.25

I am very exited! My little game is now playable from start to finish. It also have a story!

I must stress that this is the free version. I have big plans for a boxed version also as mentioning earlier.T he deluxe (boxed version) version will hopefully include an extra level and a comic strip inside. But I can not promise anything.

Currently I am searching for bugs and trying to opimize as much as possible.

The release is not far off now... Have a great weekend everyone.

Update 16: 27.10.25

I have been trying to optimize and change the enemy patterns. I have also been showing my game at a retro marked. That was very useful and motivating, only postive feedback.

In addition to that I have decided to upgrade from "Scorpion Free Edition" to the "Ultimate Edition" which means I can make my own "splash Screen" :-)

My game is  currently at version 4.4 hopefully version 4.5 will be the final version. Fingers crossed. :-)

Update 17: 22.11.25

Its almost been a month since my last update. I have really been trying my best and with help of Mixels, Tony, Arne and others to optimize my game in the same process I have encountered a lot of bugs and things that needed fixing and adjusting. I have been alot back and forth on things when it comes to gamedesign and balance. But I am finally happy and hopefully the game will be released on monday or thuesday. :D

Stay tuned and have great rest of your weekend. :-)

Very good game and excellent when you can also play on The A500 mini. I added it to my video along with other games released in February.

Thank you so much. Really appricate that! :D

Fantastic shooter that fully met our expectations. Above all, it's not as easy as you initially think, which becomes clear at the latest when facing the first boss. We took another look at the final version. Our German-language review can be found at 02:44:34. English subtitles are also available. Subscribing to our YouTube and Twitch channels is welcome. πŸ™‚

Thank you so much! If you stay at the bottom of the screen at the boss battle, the missile will fly off the screen, making it much easier!

Many thanks for the awesome game, you are now officially put into the best Amiga games of 2025 video

πŸ™πŸ™ Thank you so much, really appricate that!

and thank you for the awesome game :)

Have you completed it? I am hoping to make a boxed version. But not sure. But again thanks for the kind words. πŸ™πŸ™

I played through this first few levels - very tough. Do you want me to do some advertising for a boxed/physical version?

Thank you so much. But i am not sure when and how i am going to make it. But really appriciate the offer thats very kind of you. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Can you make an A500 Mini version?

I think if you use the WHDload version it should work? ☺️

Deleted 224 days ago

It is not a LHA file. Can I take the contents of zip file and compress them to a LHA file? Should it work? ADF files work also.

Yes, of course! And i totally forgot it should be a LHA file. If not i will ask the person who made the WHDload ver. ☺️☺️

Can't find the LHA file in the archive.. can you provide the file ? It will be very cool to launch the game automatically from WinUAE for example, just one click to go

See the updated files in the "download" section. Lots of new versions there. So happy now!

Does it work ?

I will try and make a version that works on the Amiga Mini! I will get back to you. Thanks for the patience. πŸ™πŸ™

I tried to make a LHA version. Can you test if this work on the Amiga mini?

If not I can get someone who really knows what their doing πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ˜‚

I try it on Batocera and it works fine

Here is my version of LHA. I really hope that works??

Did it work on the A5oomini ?

Yes, the LHA version. :-)

HI Roar I couldnt get it to work since it hasent the right game file name? doesnt have LHA in the name ?

(5 edits)

I will look into it. Others have made it work on the 500Mini so I am sure we will get it done! Thanks for you patience JTB81 . You know what I will try and find my 500mini I have not used it in ages but I know its somewhere. πŸ«£πŸ«£πŸ˜‡To be honest I use the AGS from

Hello again! Well that was a bummer. I got it to run on the A500mini but it ran like 2fps 🫣But I have asked the developer of Scorpion Engine to help me. But if you want I can show you a easy way to run it on WinUAE? But if just want to play it on A500mini it make take awhile. Very sorry for this JTB81.

Hei Roar Thanks for trying. Yes I support AGS and Rocking the new 3.0 version on the A500mini works fantastic.

Finally a really good version for the A500mini. It works as intended. So happy now! See the updated files in the "download" section!

Hei Roar fantastisk nyhet, I'll buy it in an instant to suport your great work. It realy is a great game keep up the good work.

Tusen hjertelig! That means so much. Very grateful.πŸ™πŸ™

Finally a really good A500mini version! ;) See the updated files in the "download" section! Thanks to AmigaVault. He made it work. So happy!

Great, now it's done and it turned out to be an excellent new shoot'em up. I've also included it in my new video along with other recently released games. I hope you enjoy it.

Brilliant! Thank you so much for the kind words! πŸ™πŸ™

Amazing job!

Thank you so much! πŸ™πŸ™

Downloaded the WingsFearAGA_WHDload, but the game just returns  "is not executable"

So weird.. which machine are you playing it on? How much ram do you have? :-( If you have an Amiga 4000 with an 040 or an Amiga with 060 you can download V4.8 it is the full game and should run on all AGA Amigas with minimum 2MB fast ram...

Ahhh 4.18 "worked".. To sad the WHD Load does not work on A1200 + Pistorm.

Hi, is it normal that you start at Mission 2 with 3 Lives although I had about 7 when finishing Mission 1 ? ;-)

Yes.. its for the boss! 🫣 other wise its too easy. Well, I think so.. πŸ˜‚

Hello, can't seem to make the game work on my A4000/040. I've tried both HDD and Whdload versions. Whdload version says the slave is not executable and the HDD version seems to get stuck on the intro screen / drawing. Any help?

Very sorry to hear that. Do you have any extra expansion board in your machine? Also how much fast ram do you have?

I can ask the creator of Scorpion Engine to look into it. I also have version 4.8 which is fetchmode 1. That is very stable. Would you like to try that?

ı’ve got 128 MB fast ram. 3.2.1 is installed. Yeah I’d like to try another version if it’s not too much trouble for you

(2 edits)

Did you get to try V4.8? Hopefully that will work. That version is the whole game but there are not much optimization and there might be some bugs. But I played through it on mye A1200 with 030 (40Mhz) and 64MB fast ram, no slowdown and no issues.

I will provide the linke again:

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/lq0cn0xprlp1g58jtnfp4/Wings-of-Fear-V4.8.zip?rlke...

oh yeah this one worked with no problems! Thank you for your effort!

So happy to hear that! Did you encounter any slowdowns? Hopefully you have a good experience. 🀞🀞

(1 edit)

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/lq0cn0xprlp1g58jtnfp4/Wings-of-Fear-V4.8.zip?rlke...

This version  is very stable but slower. But with such powerful specs i doubt you would notice any slowdowns.

Fingers crossed this work! And let me know if you encounter more bugs.

I had this problem a few times while testing for roartj,  try the other version ( there are a compressed one andone normal one).

Also, i might add that the final build seems to be ok now.

Let me know how it goes, if still problems then tell us.

Hey there, I hope you don't mind, but your game is featured in this months best

homebrew games video

No not at all! Thank you so much Jamie! I love your channel and follow it, but I lurk abit more than I comment. :P Have great evening!

Haha, no probs at all. I have been following WoF progress for some time now. Great shooter.

Congratulations on your first game! Impressive work

Thank you so much! That means a lot! πŸ™

very good

Thank you! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Hello, great game ! Can we have a LHA release for emulation ? thanks

I will see what i can do about that! Thanks! πŸ™

Does this work? If not I will hear with some who actually knows what their doing! LOL ;)

Awesome game!

Stupid question: why do you call it second demo version...?

On Amiga-News.de we have already reported on two demo version (April and June). Or am I wrong...?

https://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2025-04-00076-EN.html

https://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2025-06-00026-EN.html

Its not a stupid question. Its actually the 3rd the demo. But its the the second AGA demo. I should have clearified that. I will update the page and add AGA. Hope you have a nice weekend!

So it was a good question and me being clumsy! πŸ˜…

Thanks! What about an ECS version?

You are most welcome. Yes, i wanted it to be a OCS/ECS game originally. But this is as you see made in Scorpion Engine and i am not a good coder, so if i wanted it to be like i had envisioned it had to be AGA.. :-(

Awesome game, v3.01!

Thank you so much! I really,  really appriciate that Saaberman! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Wow! Saberman is on top of this.

Haha..yes! He is REALLY fast! In a blink of an eye has finished the demo and made a great video. But I am very grateful for his work and his promotion. Hope you also enjoy my game. πŸ€žπŸ€žπŸ˜‰

Skal fΓ₯ bootet og prΓΈvd denne snart! Ser altsΓ₯ sΓ₯ nice ut, og at du har laget alle assets selv er fantastisk!

Tusen hjertelig! 😊😊😊

Awesome game - v2.0!

Thank you so much! Means a lot! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

This is going to be a great new shoot'em up for the Amiga. I've included it in my new "Gameplay of New Amiga Games from April 2025" video, along with other recently released games. I hope you enjoy the video.

Sorry for the late response! But thank you so much. I am almost ready with an updated version. Wings of Fear V2.00 It has new planes, shadows, new tiles, more pickups, new sounds .. completely makeover! :P

(1 edit)

A nice shooter with smooth parallax scrolling, thematically and gameplay-wise very reminiscent of 1942 and 1943 (Capcom/Elite Systems). The graphics could perhaps use some fine-tuning. Our German-language preview can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 01:51:30. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. πŸ™‚

Thank you for the review of my little shooter. 😊😊😊

We would like to thank Roartj from the bottom of our hearts for choosing to share our WHDLoad version on the official itch.io page dedicated to your game Wings Of Fear: this recognition is a source of enormous joy and satisfaction for us and amply repays the efforts, sacrifices and sometimes even the bitter pills of these three years of development of our project!

Hey, I hope you don't mind, but I placed Wings of Fear in the top 100 Amiga homebrew games of all time.

No not at all! Thank you so much! Really appriciate that. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ  Have a great day and thanks for all your hard work and awesome videos! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

PS. You must not shoot all the fuel drops, you will run out of fuel and crash. πŸ˜‰

haha, no probs at all πŸ˜€

This game deserved a beautiful icon

also the name of the game can be put on the slave at any time I just put that it is recommended to have 4 mo fast

That is so beautiful! Thank you! :D

(3 edits)

This game deserved a complete and specific WHDLoad version, our Amiga Vault Team have already done so (see post below) and it is no coincidence that game developer has approved our version as the official one to be published on itch.io (see download links).

We thank you anyway for your nice artwork.

Thank you Amiga Vault! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Thanks to you for choosing our version as official whdload for your awesome game!πŸ™πŸ»

there is only one official team on whdload you and I are only amateurs who use the generic program that the official team gave to the community

(14 edits)

There is no doubt about the fact that there is only one official team that develops WHDLoad (official page HERE), we are the first to recognize it without any problem, converting into whdload only what the official team has not yet converted because they have priority and deserve respect, for the rest you, not even knowing what you're talking about (or misrepresenting reality which would be even worse), continue to make confusion and therefore we are forced to clarify for the umpteenth time,  hoping that it will be the right time (but we strongly doubt it because you are really hard to understand):

You are clearly not a programmer and you are not able to convert a game to whdload from scratch, you are simply an amateur graphic designer who downloads the generic whdloads just ready to go from Amiga France (official page HERE), creates the icons of the folders and now – trying in your own way to compete with them obviously failing to do so – even slaves, sometimes renaming them to give them a semblance of customization that they don't really have. If, for example, tomorrow Amiga France stopped creating generic whdloads, you wouldn't know how to do it, because you are not able to develop whdloads independently; Maybe you could try applying their generic models, but it doesn't always work with all games and you certainly wouldn't be able to develop your own specific slave with game information and various customizations to improve compatibility.

We are a professional team initially founded by a single person, an Amiga user who is a programmer by profession, to which along the way we have added 4 collaborators, 2 programmers also by profession, one of whom is an expert in Amiga assembly programming, and two other users who deal with the management and promotion of the project on social networks and the various Amiga online resources. Thanks to the skills in the informatic field, our team is not only able to create whdloads from scratch but also to develop specific slaves for each individual entry without the need to use the generic slaves already precompiled nor the whdload packages of Amiga France or other similar resources. Obviously, since most of these are AmigaDos titles without any protection or already unprotected, there is a common basis in the starting code of generic slaves that apply to everyone, but being programmers we unlike you are able to customize them according to the specific needs of developers and users.

To better understand, let's take a practical example with the game available here, Wing Of Fear.

You have probably carried out the following process:

  • You have downloaded and used the following package available on Amiga France: WingsFearDemo-WHDL.lha
  • You have created the graphic icons for the folder and the slave
  • You renamed the folder and the icon (info file) associated with the slave, but you did it only this time, the other times you didn't because you work randomly without following a well-defined process

Obviously we do not have your version with the graphic icons to test it because you, unlike us, having your project different purposes (we will come back to this concept later) do not make it available to download as a standalone package but insert it in your AmigOS setup, so we test the version of Amiga France to verify its content and functionality:

  • The first thing we notice is the presence of 6 icons to run the game, generically called GenericKick31, Workbench13_*, Workbench 31_*, when it was enough to simply leave the one that is closest to the hardware requirements of the game (in this case Workbench31_1 or Workbench31_4):
  •
  • There are also 3 ReadMe files present, each of which describes the generic slave reference without providing any information about the game in question:
  • The WHDLoad loading splash screen does not show the game-specific information but the information referring to the program to which that particular slave is applied by default (Kickstart 1.3/3.1 rather than Workbench 1.3/3.1):
  • The generic slaves used by Amiga France and applied to this game work perfectly on AGA systems (Amiga 1200/4000 with Kickstart 3.0/3.1), but if we try to use the same slaves on ECS systems (Amiga 500+/600 with Kickstart 2.05) the system crashes/resets/goes into guru meditation during the loading of the game with all the slaves proposed (try it to believe it). The situation improves if we put the kickstart 3.0 instead of the 2.05, Workbench31_1 and Workbench31_4 run the game but the second requires at least 8MB of Fast RAM, with 4MB Fast not even part, and in any case it is a considerable hardware forcing.

Our Amiga Vault team, on the other hand, has carried out a much more specific and elaborate process than yours, which of course we will not explain in detail (you would like to!) but which is aimed at obtaining the following result that makes it exclusive compared to your proposal and that of anyone else who is not the official Whdload team or who at least does not follow the standard procedure of creating Whdloads:

  • Slave created specifically and optimized for each single entry based on hardware requirements (CPU, CHIP RAM, FAST RAM etc.)
  • Splash Screen Loading compiled with title, year, developer/manufacturer, version and release date of the WHD entry
  • Unique custom dual state nice and colorful icon based on title screen, images and sprites of the released entry
  • Hybrid icon with OldIcon, NewIcon LoRes and ColorIcon HiRes embedded to adapt to any AmigaOS/Workbench for greater versatility
  • ReadMe file containing entry description and info compatible with all Amiga text viewers
  • Check and clean up the startup-sequence for faster entry execution and running
  • Removal of unnecessary data, libraries and other files contained in the converted entry to take up less disk space
  • Tested and ready-to-go package for most Amiga hardware and software platforms, real and emulated ones

All this really requires a lot of work and time, which you continue to despise with your false accusations, but let's move on with testing our version as well, we find the above:

  • The presence of a single icon to run the game, so that the user knows exactly how to start it; We also notice that the icon adapts by showing a different dual-state image, in Hires or Lores, depending on the operating system:
  • There is also a ReadMe file, only one rightly, which correctly shows the information of the game in question:
  • The Whdload loading splash screen correctly displays game-specific information as well as other custom messages that only those who know programming and know how to develop slaves are able to enter:
  • The specific slave generated by us works perfectly both on AGA systems (Amiga 1200/4000 with Kickstart 3.0/3.1 and 4MB Fast RAM) and on ECS systems (Amiga 500+/600 with Kickstart 2.05 and 4MB Fast RAM), try it to believe (we have released an updated version to the developer that is already present on our Gdrive repository and will soon be published here on itch.io)

Finally, comparing the contents of the two folders and the files inside it, it is clear that our version is much cleaner and more optimized, avoiding copying empty folders and extra files that are not part of the game and are useless, thus reducing the size of the whdload both when it is compressed (595KB vs 671KB) and when it is extracted (660KB vs 828KB): obviously we are talking about features of secondary importance, but for us it is the details that make the difference:

Now, drawing the conclusions of this in-depth analysis by us, you say that we are both amateurs, we both use the generic slaves and we do the exact same thing but the facts show the exact opposite, on Wings of Fear and on all the other whdloads made by both: the comparison just does not hold in terms of quality on the individual whdloads proposed, otherwise it would not explain the fact that 18 (!) developers have chosen our WHDLoad version as the official one for their game,  and as far as we know no one chose yours despite the fact that for most of them you showed them your version and therefore they had another option of choice, an alternative to choose from but they didn't even take it into consideration because it is clearly inferior to our proposal: you really have to resign yourself and accept it once and for all.

The concept also and above all applies to our projects in general, what is not clear to you is that the purpose of our projects is completely different:

Your goal is to provide a high-end Amiga operating system, very graphically beautiful and with a complete collection of Amiga games accompanied by really well made folder icons,  We recognize this because unlike you we are intellectually honest, your setup is really fantastic and has an edge over many others.

Our goal, however, is quite different: although we also offer complete collections, we focus more on offering single whdload titles, not only games but also demos, magazines, cracktros, programs, music-disks etc., following a precise standard aimed at making them compatible on ALL real and emulated Amiga systems, hardware and software, and not to include them in a single compatible operating system only a certain type of Amiga hardware (and obviously with an emulator that makes it reproduce).

It is no coincidence that all the developers who agree to collaborate systematically choose our version, because they need their single game in whdload and as compatible as possible with the various systems, and not 6 generic slaves and a couple of graphic icons that are good only for certain systems, nor an operating system complete with all the games like the one you propose:  They like that you consider them and include their game in your setup but that's the end of it, your work is not useful to them because their goal coincides with ours, not yours. Finally, those few who decide not to collaborate with us create the whdload by themselves, often using generic slaves (there is one that applies to all scorpion engine games), so if your goal is to propose your own Whdload version hoping that it will be chosen by the developers, forget it, It will never happen or if it does it will only be because they will not have other credible alternatives.

Therefore, in light of all this, comparing our two projects or even competing as you do, who post your icons on itch.io where we propose our whdloads only for pure competitive spirit and not altruistic for the community (otherwise you would propose your work everywhere and not only where we propose and only AFTER we posted our proposal) makes absolutely no sense and is just a waste of time for both:  both projects are worthy and there should be no hatred, contrast or challenge between us, but you persist in not understanding and continue to hurt yourself and undertake your silly personal battle against us which is already lost from the start, because then we respond with facts, your insinuations are punctually denied and you make a fool of yourself in front of the entire Amiga community.

Wouldn't it be much more sensible, productive and beneficial for the Amiga community if you focused on your project without wasting your time on putting a spoke in the wheels – failing miserably – on those of others? To posterity the arduous sentence...

Aladin is my brother so and after you who spit on everything I do you spend your time on me and I never come to criticize your work you have a problem I only show images where is the harm in more it pleases the creator of the games and it is not to you that my messages are intended and I am also one of the Facebook moderators AMIGA 4🌍EVER! and it would never come to me to delete your messages

Since our project was born, for 3 years until now, you have done nothing but put a spoke in the wheels and persecute us like a stalker by continuously posting on our Facebook topics and on our posts on itch.io writing that ours whdloads were not exclusive, that your icons were better, that we are not a team,  that we are amateurs etc. clearly trying to belittling our work in front of the whole Amiga community and now what do you do, after our consequent logical response to your umpteenth provocation do you want to play the part of the victim?

You complain about the involvement of your 'brother' Aladin (which by the way we hadn't even mentioned, we had only made a generic reference to his project Amiga France) but you were the first to bring him up, if you cared so much you shouldn't have put him in the middle of our discussion but you should have limited yourself to talking about YOUR graphic work and not about WHDLoads in general.

We have not spat on anyone's work (we even said that your Amiga setup is remarkable but obviously you don't even consider this part, it's not worth it to focus everything on victimhood from your part) but, to disprove your fanciful thesis on the fact that we both do the same things, we have simply made an analytical and impartial comparison between the two available whdload options so that the whole Amiga community has all the elements to evaluate how things are and decide for themselves which version to download and use,  since we also provided the direct link to download his generic Whdload release (implicitly we also advertised his project and linked to his homepage too, but obviously your narrow and limited mentality does not allow you to grasp these nuances).

You continue to mystify reality by saying 'I never come to criticize your work, I only show images, where is the harm, it is not to you that my messages are intended' etc. but then answer these simple questions:

Why do you show your images ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY where we show our Whdload to developers, as is clearly evident taking a quick look at all your posts on itch.io? (click this LINK to see it: out of 13 comments and/or images posted 12 were made on Amiga game pages where we proposed our whdload, and in the thirteenth comment - concerning a game where we didn't propose our whdload - you don't show any image/icon nor propose whdload version of that game but talk about something completely different, what a strange coincidences.....)

What image did you show and who it is intended for your ridiculous message above  "there is only one official team on whdload you and I are only amateurs who use the generic program that the official team gave to the community"? Who are you trying to kid? Are you doing it or are you there? Yes, we have a problem (only YOU annoying guy) but you have several and it would be fun to list them all, but we prefer not to rage, you already do it yourself with your irrational, narcissistic  and childish behavior.

Finally, as far as our posts on AMIGA 4 EVER are concerned, if you had deleted them it as a moderator would have been a conflict of interest and above all an abuse of power from your part since we have never broken any group rules, so not deleting them is not a merit or something to boast about, you simply did your duty; however we have just left this fb group and we banned the admin from linking our WHDLoad release posts on his group, which he was doing all the time (why since there was already Amiga France and our work is superfluous and useless in your opinion? Why he did not link to Amiga France releases instead of ours?), we can safely do without it and we will never go back there as long as you are a moderator, we don't want to deal with individuals like you anymore: it's really true, envy is an ugly beast and in your case it has become your obsession!

Now we really hope that you will no longer disturb us anymore and you will devote yourself to your project and your life, mind your own business and we will do ours, otherwise if you continue to make war on us we will fight back blow by blow, continue to counter your falsehoods, re-establish the truth and making you look bad like the one you have just done!

Goodbye and never hear from you again

Hi Roartj,

Great game indeed, congratulations! Our Amiga Vault Team is specialized in the creation/conversion of Amiga games and programs in standard WHDLoad format with specific slave, custom splash screen, hybrid icon (OldIcon+NewIcon+ColorIcon) compatible with all AmigaOS, and readme file.

As we have done with some Amiga games released in recent months (Ami-H.E.R.O, Ami Robbo 2, Better Dead Than Zed, Frank Brush, Ghosts 'n Goblins AGA, Hop To The Top, International Kopycat Plus, Kondi Krush, Metro Siege, Neon World, Phantasy Star 2, Pjusk, Sky Shapers, Soko-Ban, Soltys, Spheroid, Trapped In The Tomb, Vigilante and Yoomp!) and as we will do for some games currently in development as soon as they are ready (Hyper Wings 2.21 HD and Street Fighter), we just converted your game into WHDLoad format (look at attached pictures below:) and would like to share it with you so that, if you wish, you can include it as an additional version for the benefit of the Amiga community: what do you think of our proposal? It would be an honor and a pleasure for us to collaborate with you, if you like our idea you can contact us on facebook (user Amiga Vault) or by email (amigavault.contribution@gmail.com) if you prefer in order to define all the details.

Best Regards

Amiga Vault Team

That is brilliant! Thank you so much! Would love to include WHDload in my download.  I will reach out to you! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Yo, this is awesome, man. My wishlist for improvements would be better bullet visibility, and maybe an autofire option as an accessibility feature for people like me with knacked hands. But I love it already, thanks!

Thank you so much! I will need to find someone to code proper assembly if the bullets should be pure sprites and super visable. My goal is to have the game playable on stock Amiga 1200 and ECS machine with proper CPUs. But hopefully i can implimemt autofire. ;-)

Awesome game!

Really appriciate that! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
